Im südwestlichen Teil Kolumbiens (Provinz Huila) hat eine drei Meter lange Schlange in einem Umspannwerk zwei Starkstromleitungen kurz geschlossen.
Laut eines Berichts der "La Nación", ereignete sich der Kurzschluss, weil die Boa im Umspannwerk über einen Transformator schlängelte und dabei auf zwei Starkstromleitungen geriet. Die Zeitung beruft sich auf Mitteilungen der Behörden.
Der Kurzschluss hatte zur Folge, dass der Transformator durchbrannte. Vom Stromausfall war der nördliche Teil der Provinz Huila und die Provinz-Hauptstadt Neiva, mit 330 000 Einwohnern betroffen.
