Ein erst acht Monate alter und vermutlich deshalb ziemlich neugieriger Kater hatte an Silvester seine Nase zu weit in ein Glas gesteckt. Er blieb mit seinem ganzen Kopf darin stecken und dies geschlagene zehn Tage lang.
Bewohner in einer Wohngegend in New Jersey tat der streunende Kater leid. Deshalb verständigten sie die Polizei, die jedoch den im Glas steckenden Stubentiger nicht finden konnte.
Erst am zehnten Tag der "Kater-im-Glas"-Odyssee entdeckte jemand von der Tieraufsichtsbehörde den halb verhungerten und vor allem fast verdursteten Vierbeiner. Mit einer ordentlichen Portion Speiseöl am Hals des Katers schaffte man schließlich dessen Befreiung aus dem Einmachglas.
